Coleus having combs

This is a different type of ati-ati or coleus, with leaves bent and twisted. The other ati-ati posted earlier has little light blue flowers attached to a long stalk( Colorful leaves, ati-ati.,) but these don't produce any flower, at least not yet.....

the leaves really look like chicken combs..

What do you think?

  1. That's a very pretty coleus! I love how the colors blend in the leaves, but then that's why everyone else loves them, too.

My young rooster would be most attracted to your combed coleus, I'm sure. He'd probably even crow because he just learned that he has a voice and he's been singing to his flock of hens for a week now!

  6. It certainly look like a cockerel's comb. I also have never seen a coleus that looks like this. Is this a new discovery?

  7. I think they will have flower later on, I love the mixed of all 3 colors of the leafs yea and it makes me too thinking of a chicken comb.

Now I also know 7 things about you, thank you for sharing, and sunblossom will soon be with you,

  8. They do look like chicken's combs. I like coleus for constant color in the garden. Some of the newer varieties are sun tolerant so I can put them in more places.

  9. You sure have a lot of time with your flowers over these few days. Happy National Day.

  10. Thanks everyone for the visit and comments. Propagating coleus is simple, cut out a shoot with 3 nodes, insert into soil and it will grow. We may have to wait a while longer to see if it really flowers....
This coleus is just an ordinary one. Again, beauty appears in most ordinary things, coleus included!

Happy National Day for Malaysians where ever you are on 31th August.

  11. Very beautiful foliage! The curls are gorgeous. I like to watch how coleus leaves change colour when they are growing. It is just so wonderful to know that all plants have their own unique shape and colour. This type that you have is certainly a beauty. Enjoy merdeka! It is a good holiday for everyone!

  12. I forgot to say I couldn't think of a way to describe the smell of marigolds. I'm tossing it in my brain, though. I sort of see the chicken comb in the coleus. I love these photos, too.

Coleus is very much Kakdah's choice. She treasures colour!..., and that shows in her choice of dress too..., colourful!

The curls and colour of coleus is truly beautiful.

    Cheers
