Am I seeing GHOSTS?

Ipoh Padang

I am never good at night shots. Each time I do night shots, I keep seeing ghosts. It was at a place called Ipoh Padang. The two of us, went into the heart of Ipoh, to lazy around for a an hour or so, just to rekindle nostalgia when we were dating one another decades ago... Hmmm... Even the hazy air was as sweet....

Or may be there were ghosts before, but we failed to see then for being too engrossed with LOVE..(because love is blind?)..... haha ... I really have to learn about night shots!!!!

two ghosts?

ghosts walking or floating?
and they had long shadows too!!

HSBC Building.. the landmark!
no ghost here.

  2. You are not alone!I have several nice night shots, but mostly my night shots are bad. What is frustrating, they are even worse when I use "Night shot" feature on my camera.

  3. I haven't tried the night shots yet so thanks for the warning.
I don't think banks are good at lending out money to transparent people so don't blame the ghosts not hanging around the HSBC.

  4. There are ghosts indeed, but I understand also why they do not hang out at the bank. They prefer more joyous places. Hope your night walk was enjoyable.

  6. If you have taken the shots on Sept 2, it is the actual day of the Hungry Ghost Festival in the Chinese lunar calendar. Cantonese celebrate it on Sept 2 and Hokkiens here do that on Sept 3. This is the time when we believe the gates of hell are open and ghosts can come back to visit our world here. A Chinese style Halloween.

Bangchik, what camera are you using for this night shot and also for the perfect marigold picture?

  7. Oh oh Bangchik, I read Autumn Belle's remarks here... sounds scary he he...

Btw, I like to hang out at Ipoh Padang too, have a cup of tea and chit chat with friends. Nice place!

  10. I tried taking pictures of the moon the other night and it was one big blur. Like Tatyana said, mine were even worse on the night mode.

  11. Well i am also bad with night shots. Although night mode in my canon powershot 570IS does improve it, i have to go for manual and adjust the ISO. Ghosts are really interesting.

btw, i would not like to believe what Autumn Belle said. he he he

  12. Even when your pictures come out as 'ghosts' it makes for an interesting post.

being so used to digital camera on auto mode.. night shots will definitely be a problem... If flash isn't ON, the exposure will be a lot longer to let more light in.... But then moving things will blur like ghosts.

Haha... they are not ghost for real....

I thought Banks exercise transparency in loans and dealings, but they bar transparent ghost from getting near!

I use a Nikon and a Sony.... the old Canon, not working, just resting on the shelve.

    Thanks everyone, have fun.

  16. bangchik and kakdah, I like the repetition of movement and color in your photo 'ghosts'. Perhaps something more can be developed with that technique.

We certainly would appreciate some of that rain. :) Have a great weekend.

  17. MSROBIN, RAINNIE and DI

    Thanks for the comments.

Rekindle dating days is fun, MSROBIN... haha. I dont know RAINNIE if those are friendly or fierce ones..., but they definitely are transparent!.. Photos are not planned to be that way.. The camera opened for to long to contain movements by both real people and ghosts.... haha. DI, With digital camera, we can explore more on techniques without fear of wasting films/negatives like the old days.

    Have Fun
