Adventure with chili is always happy in beginning and a little bit sad towards the end. The plant will grow with zest enjoying its journey to maturity. The little chilies pointing upwards is a testimony of triumph!  Kakdah will open the back door and walk along the pavement to get a chili or two, to add to the flavour of her menu. The taste is as hot as other normal small green chili.

They really grow, these two white chili plants. The mulch is still there protecting the soil from being cooked by the piercing sun and stop the top soil being washed away by flooding rainfall.

They are ornamental in look but delicious in taste!

  4. Chilies come in a rainbow of colors, don't they? Red, orange, yellow, green...and now white, I see. Wishing I could grow these outside like you do!

  6. Hello Bangchik, Oh they taste like green chillies? Ok, then they are really good for cooking too! What a wonderful plant. Thanks for the mulch reminder. I think I have to put some to some of my pots. The heat is getting more intense nowadays. Happy gardening and cooking!

  7. I dont use chillies in cooking but they do seem to be enjoying a good cookery press and Tv. They look good as ornamental plants while they are growing which is a bonus!

  8. Edith Hope ~ Chili is used in many forms. one or two is enough to give soup or anything fried, an extra kick, mildly hot. Then there will be sambal, chili paste eaten with salad, or grilled fish. Taste is really very much individual. I probably have to come up with Kakdah menu with chili in here..

Kiki ~ White chili lacks the hot look, but taste is the same as the ordinary one.

Pepper-Hot ~ the white chili has been around for decades, same like the purple one. Taste is the same.

Christine B. ~ growing veggies outside, is a like going to a friendly match with pests, rain and sun. There will nudge here and there. No foul but it hurts a little.

  9. Jo ~ Harvesting with these chili is very casual. Kakdah doesnt come with a bucket to fill to the brim. She just pick the matured ones as she needs.

Cath J ~ Thanks. Wait til the plants get old, they will lose the youthful look. Leaves will get wrinkled, yellowish and old. I guess any living thing will have to go through the whole cycle.

Stephanie ~ Mulch can be almost anything, as long as they cover the soil against excessive heat from the sun and the organic mulch will decompose slowly and improve the soil.

Peggy ~ white chili serve well as ornamental and the kitchen.

  12. waliz ~ Talk about colour, purple chili will definitely add beautiful colour to the garden. White is not bad too... it is good to keep seeds and germinate later so we continue to have plants...

Poetic Shutterbug ~ thanks.., ornamental and yet delicious in taste. Hot.
