  1. So beautiful! It's amazing that such a treasure could come from such rough wood. I love the white edging and coral pink color. :o)

  2. What an unusual flower, you must show us what it looks like when it opens even more!

I would like to nominate you for a Beautiful Blogger Award because I just love your blog! To accept all you have to do is tell us 7 things about yourself and nominate 15 other bloggers. You can find the BBA thumbnail on my blog if you'd like to post it on yours and, you know, show it off :)

    1. As more petals open up, the outer most layer will start to get brown and dry..... So this flower has elements of old and young as the blooming progress...

Thanks for the Beautiful Blogger Award, I feel honored.... Huh, what am I going to write about myself, and who are going to be the next 17 recipients?.... huh, huh. Ok I will try...

  3. I want. We put the ant killers in the ground and now all our plants look half alive and with the thunderstorms and plenty of rain, it is just simply a mess. But I am not complaining about rain, I love rain.

    1. Live High aka Lisa, we are into the duality of things, the black and white, sweet sour, love hate things. Rain has that two sides, as anything else...... Pokok kantan is a survivor, rain or no rain, ants or no ants, in fact it will grow better unattended.. :)

  6. Mine is of darker colour...but i think this paler version is softer and is more widely used as ulam kan? I just love the fact that mine is packed with more anti-oxidant,being deeper in colour, no?

    1. Nor.... I am not aware of anti oxidant - colour relationship..... Ours is the countryside girl version, no heavy makeup, just the natural soft pink blush... haha.

  8. lovely. I just want to ask whether kantan grows in shaded area. My concrete urban garden does not get direct sunlight so not many flowering plants thrive but i love this plant, the flower and foliage so beautiful

    1. Freesia Star, Our plant receives sunlight till midday only, afternoon light get blocked by the house. Kantan in fact grow better in a bit of shade.... The only probably is Kantan needs quite a space.
