Nice white fruits

A friend from Terengganu, Long, mentioned about these nice looking fruits. He used to pick and eat them while walking to school. He had forgotten the name of the tree, he simply said "one of the jambu variety". The trees were abundant in his childhood days in Terengganu. I snapped this photo in Belum Rainforest Resort.... I never see this plant in Perak or anywhere nearby in Putrajaya. The taste is very much like jambu... because they are small, lets call them white berries.......

the fruits
nice, and very much edible.

fruits
unbelievably pure white

flowers
hairy flowers
and as the hairs drop off,
the fruits start to develop,
and in this case they develop
into nice looking
white fruits.
Photo of the same tree but different branch.

Someone out there may be able to recognise these fruits and the name as well.....

  2. Hi. Do you know a fruiting plant named Lepisanthes Alata? The Malay name is Ceri Terengganu or Buah Johor. Nice white berries!

  11. Just found your blog and started to read it from the very beginning.

I found these unfamiliar trees at the lake near my house in Section 7, Shah Alam. I believed that the municipal plant them as "pokok hiasan". I dont know it is edible.

    Thanks for the info.
