Kaklong's collection of cream to purple

The plants are bougainvilleas, or bunga kertas known among us here. We dont have not even a single plant in our plot at the moment. Kaklong has quite a variety... ranging from creamy yellow to purple.

  2. Have you thought of growing them in flower pots? Bunga kertas is a very suitable name because it really look like paper flowers.

  3. Beautiful colours!

The strawberrys on my post are wild strawberrys. they are small but very tasty. They grow by the country road.

  4. Hi, I can't remember ever seeing a yellow one before. Pretty but my favorite has always been that really bright pink color! I've tried them as houseplants but no long-term success. Will you add one to your garden?

I am considering having them in pots. We just finished repotting rose plant, and I think Kakdah is about to swing her inclination towards flowers and pots.... I can sense that.. haha.

Thanks for the visit. Yes, wild strawberries in your blog do look very strong!!

I may just get one for the garden. Years ago, we kept lot of these flowers. One purple bougainvilleas survived for more than ten years in the same pot.

Soon our little vegetable garden will see bougainvilleas , not on the ground, just in pots.

Yes, the purple flower is pretty.

When these flowers end their blooming fiesta, they fall off and blown all over the place by wind, because they are very light, just like fine paper. Sometimes the place becomes very messy with flowers flying all over....

  9. I grow bougaunvillae too but mine are not flowering so much. I'm told it's better to plant them in pots for better control and they'll flower more. So, try it!

Interestingly these flowers has no seeds. So the flowers are really for show... for the bees, butterflies and birds maybe. We are no exception, we simply love them flowers..

Generally plants will bloom seasonally, but "bunga kertas" keep on flowering one after another. After a little bit of pruning, they will kick better with beautiful flowers.

In pots, you can do bonsai with them ..., shape them according to your taste.

  13. I enjoyed looking at those creamy one as I seldom has the chance to see bougainvillea in this colour. Many gardeners prefer bright and vivid colour ones. Have a restful evening! Btw, I am not familiar with Malay plant names. It is good that you let me know about mawar berduri. TQ!

  16. I was on my deck looking at the neighbor's gardens. Almost everyone has a bougainvillea, though the colors tend to be on the reddish-purple to pink side. I've seen white ones, but I don't think I've encountered the creamy yellow versions. Very nice.
