The last of winged beans

I seldom allow plants to die standing. As soon as the plants are showing sign of old age, or serious pest attack, I will put emotion aside and pull  out the plants. Our winged beans are showing every sign of getting old. Leaves getting smaller, beans start to emerge in awkward shapes and pests seem to hover around for a big kill.

I pull the plants out and dismantle trellie.... and thats the last of our winged beans.

  3. Bangchik, I mentioned your wing beans in my last post. It is rather sad for me to see that the "monster" :) is no longer in your garden.

  4. Kind of sad when the time for a plant's worth is done.

  5. When you said, "die standing", it reminds me of the heroes in fighting scenes where they really died standing while in battle. I guess your winged bean was a hero in your garden too.

I don't know, but I always regard every bit of plant life as important, right from seedling to the end.

It is only fair to portray plants throughout the life spectrum, as a record for us and for others and we definitely do justice to the existence of plants we grow.

The ending of plants life is rather sad... they get old as any other living creature, like us too.... fatigue, prone to sickness and disease, wrinkles, lack of zest, etc, etc.

I would rather pull aging plant a lot sooner than their true age limit.... I feel better that way.

Thanks Lisa for highlighting these winged beans in your Blog.

    Cheers everyone.
