Oh, we can define art in many ways.
Art is the process or product of deliberately arranging elements in a way to affect the senses or emotions. It encompasses a diverse range of human activities, creations, and modes of expression, including music, literature, film, sculpture, and paintings
Art is the human effort to imitate, supplement, alter, or counteract the work of nature.
Art is the high quality of conception or execution, as found in works of beauty; aesthetic value.
Art is a male personal name, both in its own right and as a diminutive form of the common name Arthur.

Interestingly
I found one definition of gardening as the art and craft of growing plants.

where is art in your garden?

  1. Beautiful butterfly and tendrils Bangchik... You have made them art by the artistic way you have captured them. I believe my garden is my great work of art... all my other work is either inspired from the gardens or comes directly from them. I never said it was 'good' art but it gives me joy. ;>)

  2. Our garden is Mother Nature and our own creativity combined into a unique masterpiece. We can control how a plant twirl and vine but we can only wait for the butterflies and bees to come to make it complete. ART in the garden involves Action, Relaxation and Thoughts.

  3. So lovely bangchik. I'm not sure if I prefer the butterfly or the curled tendril, fortunately there's no need to choose. I think all of nature is a work of art, far more beautiful and interesting than anything I can create.

Photograph is just an avenue to freeze the artistic moments in the garden which could easily have been forgotten as we busy fluffing, weeding and pruning, day in day out. But garden itself remains as an art by itself....

Thanks Belle for the lovely words about ART. We can manoeuvre a little, but the rest Nature will have its way.....

Yes, nature is a work of art, and our role is limited to put and arrange the way we want. Of course we continuously look after the creative art in the garden by the routines; watering, weeding, fertilising etc..

    Thanks, have a great weekend.

  5. Bangchik, Beautiful butterfly & write-up about Art. I opened the back door just now to be greeted by a burung pipit, a yellow butterfly and a dragon fly. Can't help smiling. That is nature's work of Art.

  6. Aaron.
Before man are able to invent spring, bittergourds and many other have been reaching out with springy tendrils. Tendrils are fairly strong to hold heavy load.

    One,
Not many burung pipit here. The regulars are crows, gembala kerbau and merbuk.

    Cheers,
    Bangchik and kakdah.

  7. Bangchik, you've made art, by looking at the tiny tendrils and dots on wings of a butterfly, with sense of joy and as moments celebrated. All arts to me are joy and celebrations expressed and captured, no matter in what forms.

Gardens full of bees, birds and other wonderful insects are a garden celebrated.
