Bakawali dalam pasu.

Our Bakawali had gone to many places, Kuala Lumpur, Pantai Remis Perak and  Felda Nenering as giveaways. I had been here in Pasir Gudang Johor for slightly over a year,  and within that short period the original single Bakawali plant had swell to almost a hundred at various stages of growth. It's a delicate plant with most exotic fragrant flower.  They never stop to amaze me.

One thing I have not tried is putting Bakawali in the ground, probably around the trunk of a large tree. That would provide different adventure. However growing bakawali in pots is still the best with all the flexibility.

  1. Bakawali, I had to think about this plant, but I saw the pictures and I think we call this the "Queen of Night". The big white flower opens at night and it blooms only one night. The fragrance is very special, sweet and delicate, a fragrance out of another world. Am I right ? Or is it another plant?

  2. Oh so you call that 'bakawali'! I have sent some leaves to Autumn Belle last year and they are growing well now. I am selling it here online, but only one person just bought yet, hahaha! It was only my experiment because i thought not many here have it. Mine was growing profusely on the ground sending tall stems taller than me. I've also posted it many times in my blogs. Epiphyllum oxipetalum.

  4. I like seeing the progression of its growth in age increments. I too have posted about the Epiphyllum oxypetalum, just gave one as a gift to a neighbor. What a grand plant.
