Coleus picking up.

We pulled out the old coleus end of last year and threw them under our aging ulam raja. With the current rate of rainfall, there sprouts roots and shoots at the stems. Under the bright sun, their multicolour is so sweet and refreshing... I decided to leave them where they are now....

  1. I love all the variations of the coleus plant - I am terrible at keeping them as I seem to overwater them or if its a wet summer here they succumb to the wet. I think the best display I ever saw was at Great Dixter - the late Christopher Lloyds garden.

  2. I love coleus too! They have certainly come a long way since the days when there were only a few different colours of foliage patterns available. They're perennial for you, but here they're annuals, very welcome in containers and brightening up slightly shady spots.

  8. What a pretty photo, nicely backlit. I thought of you yesterday as I was planting some ginger root. It makes a nice tropical plant. I haven't grown any in over 20 years, but thought I'd grow it again. I'm growing it in a pot in southern California.

  9. Those are pretty mighty plants! I am amazed myself how hardy they are. They do well in my hot sunny garden as well.
