The second harvest of tomato wasn't great with 5 sizeable tomatoes. Two ended in noodle soup, one for me and one for kakdah. It was the best noodle on earth ever!

It was special, as we ate slowly taking our sweet time, taking twice the length of time we used to finish a bowl of noodle. How we play around with the tomato in the mouth, pushing it to one side and another, refusing to swallow, describing the taste and remembering the journey that particular tomato had to take.

Deleteyes Bangchik i agree with all you said "and more"! I also had 6 tomato plants and when i went home the other Sat, that was already the 3rd harvest. I also pictured my daily harvest from Sat-Sun and i am so thrilled harvesting. Mine was just from seeds of market tomatoes, and it was truly the best tasting tomato in the world! Haha. We even give tomatoes as give-aways during my niece thanksgiving for graduating high school with honors. And my female cousins who received them were very happy. Mine was oblong and fruits are a bit bigger than yours!
ReplyDeleteThe last four weeks, plants were very much left on their own, when I had to be away for days and back for a day or two and then out again. IT's alright I guess, since that's the way plants are supposed to be, looking after themselves and tomato had been placed in the "danger extinct list". So Andrea, the size shown is naturally normal, and the bigger tomato of yours probably is suffering from acute obesity... haha.
DeleteI have picked the best, and scoop out the seeds. They are now germinating and ready for the second generation of backyard tomato.

Malar..., when the harvest is small, only a few we tend to appreciate more. Next time we can say going to class instead of doing garden work.
