After growing cabbage several times, we can roughly guess which stage they in now. Spinach or kale will grow upwards over time. For cabbage, once the stem has grown strong and tough, it will grow inwards to form the cabbage head.

A truly inspirational idea to grow cabbages in pots, we might try growing some kale in a pot as we've run out of space in our raised beds. Franny & Suzy from Plot 57b
ReplyDeleteIn the garden I had always troubles with growing cabbages. May be I give it a try in pots. Your cabbage looks nice, untouched by insects or snails.
ReplyDeleteStrange thought for me - growing cabbages in pots! Do they have pest like caterpillars in your part od the world as yours look extremely nibble free? We have to net ours or either the wood pigeons devastate them or the white butterflies lay eggs on them and their caterpillars devastate them.
