A sunset over Tanah Merah

For a house, there is a term called verandah which is a section jutting out of the main building, meant as a resting place. There is another term called balcony also with similar  function.  I was standing on that section of the house watching as the daytime was about to end.

It rains here almost everyday, and it is going to be heavier soon as December is coming near.
The sky tells everything.

WEDNESDAY: The solemn beauty of a red sunset

A red sunset through the window,
over Putrajaya.
The protruding lamp posts bow to the beauty.

Red Sunset
As beautiful as it sounds.
As beautiful as it is.
A moment of peace.
A moment of rest.
A time of joy.
A time of life.
It sure is,
an incredible world.

As it rains.

It was raining hard. But the sky was quiet,
no lightening fireworks to set the mood
and no loud thundering music to accompany the happening.
As both of us looked out the door,
we could hear the sounds of dropping and splashing.
We could see the rains dancing on the red pedestrian walk.
They flowed along the pavement and crossed the lawn
and disappeared through the drain.

After a while, the rain went easy and stopped.
But the leaves were enjoying the last bit,
seeing water flowing down ,
forming little drop at the edge
before jumping off
pushed by its weight

Rain has been falling down for zillion of years,
draining the heavy cloud,
clearing up the hazy sky,
bringing life back to the dry land.
As it stopped, the little frogs were croaking
in chorus rejoicing the after climax of the rain.
The soil was moist,
the males croaked continuously  to serenade the females.
There was wetness everywhere.....,
on the road, the leaves
and even in the air.

a glimpse of golden hope.

A day is about to end when the sun slides down beyond the houses and trees. The day usually ends with rainfall, but not today. It's fairly dry and the sky is blue clear with patches of clouds. The photos were taken from our front balcony. The weather is punctuated  intermittently by rainfalls. With less rains, working in the garden is easy and fun. Little seedlings are waiting for this weather, very much drier with less rain. But then, gardeners like me will have to pull out water hose, to ease the hunger. At the end, the hose will be coiled up and put aside to complete the day accompanying the retreat of a golden sun....

How's your sunset?.... Is there any ray of hope there?..

Sunset on gloomy sky.

sunset over Putrajaya.

It rained around 3.30pm which lasted for about an hour.  The air became clean, easing visibility  through dusk.  But the sky remained gloomy with a definite promise that the sky would break again spraying rain onto land and mountains soon.

The sunset was a little bit gloomy lacking the silvery look.
