This is definitely the kind of okra / bendi / lady's fingers we are not very familiar with, both growing or eating. There are 9 plants all over the garden. They behave just like the green version, except everything seem to be red. Kakdah is thinking about the right recipe for these healthy looking fruits. The colour tone matches well against 50 roselle plants in the garden.

What an elegant plant, the flower looks like a dagger, how dangerous! Thank you for your beautiful comment on my blog :)
ReplyDeleteThat's okra Rosemary, not eggplant. It does look dangerous.. aha.
DeleteI have high hope for them too when they were growing and looking so gorgeous in red...alas,they turn pale green upon contact with heat!! Kak Dah, you have to resort to eating it raw kalau nak maintain warna merah tu...
ReplyDeleteSelamat Raya Nor..., Probably kakdah will do okra steam. Steaming with most veggies retain their colour. Ratah macam ulam, tak tertelan agaknya.
Deletevery beautiful...I'm sure you will discover that they taste as good as they look!
ReplyDeleteTheanne.... Kakdah picked a few yesterday, and she is still thinking what to do with them.
