I dont normally drive for long. Two hours is just about it. I normally swerve to the left and have a good rest at one of the many R&R.
This is Bukit Gantang..... a lovely spot to rest and eat or drink. It wasn't weekends or festive seasons, otherwise the whole place will be crowded, and at worst we cant get even a parking place.

It looks like a lovely place--so nice to visit. The greens are just so bright -you know?

What a great place to get some rest. So pretty and green!
ReplyDeleteIt does look like a very inviting spot... love the tile roofs and pergola.
ReplyDeleteI looks like a nice place to rest and eat / gittan
ReplyDeleteI wish we had rest stops like that around here. They are often in green spaces but not that beautiful!
ReplyDeleteVery nice place. Clean and tidy. It looks like a good place to unwind. Relaxing.
ReplyDeleteGood thing the face of the guy is darkened. (teehee)
It is very charming and refreshing with all the greenery and foliage.
ReplyDeleteYes a delightful resting place.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a wonderful place to stop and be refreshed.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you can really relax and unwind there. Just what you need after a long drive.
ReplyDeleteHere at the R&R, we can find many types of delicious local fruits and biscuits too.
ReplyDeleteThe scenery along our highway is not really bad. I'll enjoy mine once I travel to Sungkai this weekend.
ReplyDeleteLove the pergola! I would want to stop more often if we had rest stops in Pennsylvania like yours. Pamela
ReplyDeleteWest Malaysia NS highway is very good, lots of places to stop and eat. One place I went even have the sweet potato leaves.
ReplyDeleteNotice there is a vine growing, Are those passiflora? Those staghorn fern look so lushful. Hope you manage to refresh yourself with these garden plants.
ReplyDeleteLOL, Bangchik, hate it when 'people' get it my shots! What a pretty rest stop. Hope your destination was someplace fun!
ReplyDeleteLooks a great place to relax. The greenery must have a soothing effect.
ReplyDeleteOh my, that is really nice. We don't have anything that beautiful on our highways. Just your typical gas station/coffee shop stuff.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone
ReplyDeletefor the visits
and comments.
It must be the weather we are having that demands proper and lots of resting area along the highway. On hot days, afternoons are really hot and blinding... Tired limbs and tired eyes require regular rests. There are petrol stations too, typically Petronas, Shell, Mobil, Esso.
Just after Gopeng on the way to Kuala Lumpur before we climb up the mountainous terrain, there is a big resting area. A nice natural waterfall flows beautifully and gives out sound that sooth any tired drivers. I wont miss that every time.
So, lets rest intermittently as we travel for convenience, comfort and safety!! At least the engine needs rest too... haha.
Cheers,
~bangchik
Putrajaya Malaysia
Much, much nicer than the brick, glass and chrome rest stops with obligatory fast food restaurants in America! I'd take a waterfall anyway.
ReplyDeleteI love PLUS. I think they are the best.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't want to get back in the car and drive after stopping here. It looks welcoming and relaxing.
