This must be a better year for Kakdah's mother. Her Chempedak tree is heavy with fruits and none is visible with marks of pests or insects. The fruits are so clean and good looking. I guess in a few months time, they are ready to be plucked.
How can I explain chempedak's exquisite taste?

ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog and congrats to you on all your blotanical wins. Fantastic!
I have never seen this fruit brfore! How do you eat it or use it. And whats the taste? It looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteOh cantiknya cempedak. Teringin sangat tengok.
ReplyDeleteDon't think this helps but,
According to Wiki:
The taste of the fruit is similar to the related Jackfruit and Breadfruit with a hint of Durian. The sweet, juicy pulp surrounds the seeds in a thick layer between the husk and an inedible core.
Beautiful chempedak! My mouth is watering just looking at the pics!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your bouquet of Blotanical awards! Thoroughly deserved :)

What an interesting looking fruit
ReplyDeleteI think chempedak has a strong, sweet scent. I love chempedak fried in batter, yes, our local 'cempedak goreng'. How do you think cempedak tempura will taste like? Afterall, they already have okra, sweet potato, carrot, and other vege tempura.

ReplyDeleteAll I can say about the taste of Cempedak is "wuaaalllaaa!!!". Truly exquisite. Those coming from tropical countries, know exactly what the taste like... Nice to eat raw, and equally nice to treat cempedak further, fry them, mix with flour for jemput-jemput, or cook with coconut cream for bubur cempedak.
We have done cempedak tempura before... interesting for a change. The seeds can also be eaten, fried or boiled...
About the awards.., thanks again
Cheers, have fun
