It took me a while to realize that senduduk flowers always pull the petals and close up before sunset and open up the next day around 9am..... I suppose they enjoy sleeping at night, and don't wish to expose themselves to night pests........ They are choosy and treasure their privacy!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!

Always Growing
Say it with flowers.
ReplyDeleteHappy new Year. Bon Voyage.
They look so pretty all closed up for the night.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a very happy and healthy new year!
Plants can be fascinating in their habits.Like the prayer plant which also closes the leaves at night. Or the one which shivers violently when one touches it and closes up its leaves. How nicely put to let the flowers go to sleep at night. I do love the purple Aubergines (eggplants)such attractive vegetables not only to look at but also to cook with.
ReplyDeleteKind of like 4 o'clocks around here.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, Bangchik!

Thanks everyone for for visits and comments. Your comments reinforce my motto; that Blotanical really connects people.
Those staying in places where things are brown and white and shivering cold, can have a glimpse of plants and flowers they may wish to grow soon. Flowers here brighten up the snowy places...... haha.
thanks to the New Year Wishes...... I guess we really have to count the blessings and pray for more.
At the moment few plants show some peculiarity about closing and opening. Ulam Raja close up its leaves around the same time and open up before dawn. Roselles opens up in the morning, close up tight and drop of its flowers around midday.... the other one is very special..., we call the plant petola with very bright yellow flowers. Petola flowers open at night and close day time.... huh!!.. petola really goes for midnite visitors.
Thanks everyone...
Have a great year ahead!!
