I dont realise that roselles are about to bloom until a day I squat down to fluff the soil there... Neat little things. I am eager to see if the flowers are going to be white, yellow, orange or what .... It is really a wait. Its going to be a lot sooner that previously thought....
Its a wonder how little buds just sprout at every node, and surely they will take turn to flower.... Just wait and see.....

The little dark redish brown things are called calyces.
These can be made into a drink
rich in vitamin C and anthocyanins.
I assume that we have to wait until they bloom
and
grow a little bit bigger.

I wish that I could have a taste....
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to see the flowers. :)
This is the excitement of gardening, it's all a waiting game. I'm intrigued to see what colour the flowers will be now too.

Agreeably there is exitement in gardening. Waiting for the first flower, for seeds to sprout, for the first fruit to pick.... and the first caterpillar feasting on your veggie as well...
I expect the flower to be creamy kind of color..hmmm.

It will be a delight to see the pretty flowers. Do you grow many bushes? May I know what you use them for?

ReplyDeleteI grow 8 roselle plants..... and the little reddish fruits can be blended to make drinks.. something like ribena drinks...
Anticipation is all the fun.
