Pineapple: rooting

pineapple crown rooting.

I am not too sure if there are more leaves now, but both of us agree that the plant is a lot bigger that the little crown we took home weeks ago.  I fall victim to the inquisitive mind of a child too, because the other day I poked the soil a little bit to see the root. Yes!.., the crown is really rooting.

  2. Bangchik, I am seething with loathing and envy :) I tried to grow a pineapple crown this spring and finally gave up and threw it out yesterday. What did you do that I didn't ???

  8. That is the best feeling when something you plant takes root.

  10. Hahaha, i sometimes poke at cuttings too! It looks like it is not very hot anymore in Putrajaya, unlike here where the rain is still far away as the clouds are there but not yet heavy. Only thyphoon makes rain come sooner here. You know what! The slip or the shoot under the fruit grows or fruits faster than the crown even if the slip looks smaller at first. You can experiment a bit, and its fun!

  11. That will be so awesome! I tried this once, but the crown was rotting, not rooting.

  14. Friends, Bloggers and Gardeners, thanks to the visits and encouraging comments.

The child in each of us, may in the end makes us do many things, crazy, creative and funny. All moved by the inquisitive minds. So is checking the roots.

I just hope the pineapple will continue growing. The wait is too long, around a year, therefore anything can happen.

    have a nice day
