Last Sunday, we went over to agric expo at Taman Warisan Pertanian Putrajaya. A short trip away, at the far end of presint 16 ... Kakdah decided to start toying with orchids. So we took home 2 pots ..... and the liquid fertilizer as well ... She was far more serious with orchids when we were in Pahang many years ago, dividing her time well between family, sewing and orchids. Then there was a rare orchid we took from a hill at Teluk Senangin, Perak which is not far away from her hometown .... and there was another orchid which thrive in coastal areas with stem as big as the arm!....
With regular transfer over the years, gardening and orchids get stunted and stay dormant for quite sometime ......

We actually asked the man,

ReplyDeleteThats most probably 'epidendrum'. I've never grown them myself. My orchids are mostly dendrobiums and phalenopsis. But growing them is one of them most rewarding things :)
